Some of the main differences you will notice between traditional and online meetings are:

You're not in the same room as your audience.
OK, this is a really obvious one, but it's still a difference! You're not going to be standing in the same room as your audience!

Background noise from your audience is just as disturbing, if not more so than in a traditional presentation.
If someone eats or drinks noisily during a traditional presentation, it can be pretty distracting. If your audience do that in an online presentation and have their microphones on, it can have an effect on your sound and everybody trying to hear you. Make sure to ask your audience to turn their microphones off when they are listening to you.

There is a lack of body language.
Your audience are looking at you on a screen, so you can't walk around the room, look people in the eye or point with your hand at slides. You might be surprised how much you rely upon those methods when you are suddenly faced with an online presentation.

You may end up relying more on visual aids, such as presentation slides.
Because you can't focus on body language, you need to grab your audience's attention somehow. You will find that you will need to focus more on presentation slides, videos or pictures to keep your audience's attention. Asking questions is also a good way to keep them on their toes (though remember to ask them to turn their microphone on).

You might not be able to keep an eye on every person.
If you are holding an online presentation to a lot of people, say over 20, then you probably won't be able to fit them all on your screen. Make sure not to forget that there are lots of people watching!

You rely more on technical equipment.
Not only do you need to make sure your presentation is working like in a traditional presentation, but you also need to make sure the video call software you are using works and that you can share your screen without any problems.`
