What is the German equivalent?
Interestingly, the German translations of English first conditionals are pretty much the same as the zero conditionals. Take a look here:
English: If we sell more, we will make a profit.
German: Wenn wir mehr verkaufen, machen wir einen Gewinn.
(oder: Wenn wir mehr verkaufen, werden wir einen Gewinn machen.)
English: If we receive more orders, we will employ more staff.
German: Wenn wir mehr Bestellungen erhalten, stellen wir mehr Mitarbeiter an.
(oder: Wenn wir mehr Bestellungen erhalten, werden wir mehr Mitarbeiter anstellen.)
English: If there is a rail strike, I will be late for work.
German: Wenn es einen Bahnstreik gibt, komme ich zu spät zur Arbeit.
(oder: Wenn es einen Bahnstreik gibt, werde ich zu spät zur Arbeit kommen.)
