DigiPulse – Unit 1: New Technologies
This course introduces key digital innovations that support people with disabilities. Based on data and materials from the DDSkills Project, it covers assistive technologies, smart homes, robotics, virtual and augmented reality, brain–computer interfaces, and green ICT. Participants gain insight into how technology can enhance inclusion, independence, and quality of life.

Providing accessible education is an important responsibility of higher education institutions. Although digitalisation creates new opportunities for teaching and learning, it can also introduce barriers, particularly for students with disabilities. In this course, you will learn how certain impairments can affect studying and learning, and how you can design accessible digital learning materials and teaching sessions.
The course is offered as part of the U!REKA alliance's shared staff training. It is aimed at teaching staff and other interested colleagues. You can work through the materials independently and at your own pace. To complement the self-study part, an exchange session on the course content is offered once per semester, where participants can discuss and reflect on what they have learned together. The date of the next session will be announced in the course.
