Dear Students of Satellite Communications,
A warm welcome to our Satellite Communications course! I am thrilled to have you on board for this exciting journey. Throughout this semester, we will be delving into a wide range of topics in this field. Here's a preview of what we'll be covering:
Orbits and Related Issues: Understanding the various types of orbits satellites can occupy and the associated considerations.
Uplink, Downlink, and Overall Link Performance; Intersatellite Links: Examining the vital aspects of signal transmission, reception, and the performance metrics that govern satellite communication.
Multiple Access: Exploring the techniques and protocols for multiple users to access the satellite channel efficiently.
Satellite Networks: Investigating the architecture and operation of networks comprised of multiple satellites, enabling seamless global coverage.
Earth Stations: Learning about the crucial ground-based stations responsible for communicating with and controlling satellites.
Communication Payload: Understanding the payload components that facilitate the exchange of information between satellites and Earth.
Reliability and Availability of Satellite Communication Systems: Analyzing the factors that contribute to the dependability and accessibility of satellite communication services.
Satellite Services and Applications: Exploring the diverse range of services and practical applications enabled by satellite technology.
I am enthusiastic about the knowledge and insights that await us in this course. If you ever have questions or seek further clarification on any of these topics, please feel free to reach out. Let's make this semester a rewarding and engaging experience!
Best regards,

Liebe Studierende,
Oder Sie wollten schon immer einmal wissen, welches Signal was genau bedeutet? Willkommen, Sie passen zu uns!
In dieser Lehrveranstaltung erwarten Sie folgende Inhalte:
- Terminologie
- Sicherheit im Bahnbetrieb
- Sicherheit in der Informationsverarbeitung
- Komponenten, Technologien und Techniken der Fahrwegsicherung
- Systemaufbau elektronischer Stellwerke
- Software und Nachrichtenverarbeitung im elektronischen Stellwerk
- Nachrichtenübertragung zwischen Stellwerk und Feldelementen
- Die nächste Generation: Digitale Stellwerke
- Nutzung von Standardkommunikationssystemen im Bahnbetrieb
- Zugbeeinflussung
