U!REKA

Providing accessible education is an important responsibility of higher education institutions. Although digitalisation creates new opportunities for teaching and learning, it can also introduce barriers, particularly for students with disabilities. In this course, you will learn how certain impairments can affect studying and learning, and how you can design accessible digital learning materials and teaching sessions.

The course is offered as part of the U!REKA alliance's shared staff training. It is aimed at teaching staff and other interested colleagues. You can work through the materials independently and at your own pace. To complement the self-study part, an exchange session on the course content is offered once per semester, where participants can discuss and reflect on what they have learned together. The date of the next session will be announced in the course.

Wie können Städte in Europa nachhaltiger, digitaler und lebenswerter werden? Dieser Onlinekurs lädt Studierende aller Fachrichtungen ein, genau dieser Frage nachzugehen – und dabei zentrale Zukunftsthemen unserer Gesellschaft aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven zu entdecken. Der Kurs ist Teil der U!REKA European University Alliance und verbindet europäische Zusammenarbeit mit einem gemeinsamen Verständnis von Nachhaltigkeit.

Was dich erwartet:
Du setzt dich mit aktuellen Herausforderungen wie Klimawandel, Biodiversitätsverlust und nachhaltiger Stadtentwicklung auseinander, lernst unterschiedliche Perspektiven auf Nachhaltigkeit kennen und erhältst Einblicke in europäische Strategien der grünen und digitalen Transformation.

Abschluss:
U!REKA-Zertifikat nach der erfolgreichen Beantwortung der Lernfragen im Kurs.

How can cities in Europe become more sustainable, digital, and livable? This online course invites students from all disciplines to explore precisely this question while discovering key future-oriented topics of our society from different perspectives. The course is part of the U!REKA European University Alliance and combines European collaboration with a shared understanding of sustainability.

Workload: 12–27 hours (self-paced format)
with short learning units, interactive activities, and case studies from various European cities

What to expect:
You will engage with current challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and sustainable urban development, explore different perspectives on sustainability, and gain insights into European strategies for green and digital transformation.

Completion:
Participants will receive a U!REKA certificate upon successfully answering the course questions.
